To my future children: →
write-handed:
When the doctor has wrapped you up and placed you in my arms, I will lift you high above my head and present you to the world Lion King-style. I will give you a name that teachers pronounce correctly during roll call. When you cry in the middle of the night, I will sing to you. I will play outdoors with you. When you are hurt, I will supply Band-Aids and kisses. I will show you...
Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is....

You’ll find flaws in the history of christianity.
You’ll find flaws in way the church operates today.
You’ll find flaws in the leaders of the church.
You’ll find flaws in the books we write, songs we sing and words we say.
You’ll find flaws in me.
But none of these screw-ups are any reason to reject God.
Because...
Hi friends. I need some help!
I will be going on a trip to Nepal in less than 20 days. Me + a team of 23 others will be up in the mountains teaching kids and I’m also going to be walking around to various villages to document life there.
A few questions.
1. What would you like to know about Nepal or the people there?
2. What stories would you like to hear?
3. How would you want us to put across this message? (Blog,...

The Namaste Dream
I can’t wait for Winter.
Winter is when I’ll live out the Namaste dream. Going to Nepal, to give some love to the Nepalese kids, teach them English and pave a way for a better future for them.
December 2-26. Here I come.
I love travelling, and I love people. This is a dream (:
Let’s see how I’ll survive the cold though. My tolerance to the cold is zilch. (I get really...

I Am In Love With Life
Life, now. Let me give you a brief picture.
I am sitting in my room hammering away past 12 midnight. I am hungry but I will zip downstairs in a while to cook some instant noodles to pacify my rumbling tummy.
Zoom out. I am working in one of the happiest places to be in Singapore. I love my job. Well, most of it. It is full of excitement and I get what to do what I love. By this I mean spend...

Loving someone does not mean I know who they are; it means I have some understanding of who I am. If I am not loving someone, it is not because they are unlovable, but because I am not asking Jesus to show me who He is when I look at them. Of course, it’s “easier” to love someone when you don’t know who they are if you think that loving a person is about finding out more...

It's a Stay Home Sunday
I’m staying home today to rid myself of this horrible lethargy that has been plaguing me for the past few days. Honestly, I have been a walking zombie that falls asleep the very moment I reach home, and I don’t even know why. So I’m under orders to stay at home (by concerned folks)…and this is me listening. But as you all know, I can’t stay still for long. I’ll...

I am so confused, frustrated and upset right now that I can’t sleep. My brain is being torn apart and my heart aches for I cannot accept what is being laid out for me at all- I do not like it. A. Single. Bit.
There is supposed to be a picnic with the class at 10am tomorrow but I don’t think I’m going already, I’ve cried a river and I’m not falling asleep anytime...
Destination: Here
I thank God for friends. I think the world of them. Good friends are like a warm blanket on a chilly winter night. They keep you comfortable, safe and shield you from the biting cold.

Stories upon stories
It is 2AM and the night sky still seems bright for some reason. It has been about 2 weeks since exams have ended.
I’ve managed to do a great number of things that I haven’t been able to do because of the exams. Simple joys like
Manicures and Pedicures
Watching back-to-back episodes of NCIS and catching up on Glee
Going out to catch movies at the cinemas
Hanging out with close...

You sustain all of creation in every passing moment of our existence You are above and beyond it all. Even when we can not see what is next, after, or ahead You guide us in the light of Your love. Nothing can be stable apart from You and nothing remains permanent because it will pass in the winds as they blow over the foundations we have worked so hard to falsely lay. Even if we tried...
I will protect those who trust in my power
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. 6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. 7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,...

i want to tell you a story
jamesandrew:
about a very peculiar tree. this tree, in its youth, stood the tallest of all the other trees in its forest, had the thickest bark, and the greenest leaves. it was a sight to behold. unfortunately, over the years, the weather grew worse and worse, hammering the forest with storm after storm. battered and worn, the forest began to wither. the tree was not immune to this hardship, and...

In Memory
Each man’s life is but a breath.
I bawled like a baby at the hospice just now – simply because I couldn’t stand seeing you in pain. It tugged so hard on my heartstrings. You knew you were never going to get well. You told me so on Friday. But you were still happy.
I am so grateful for all the love you have showered upon us in your old age - the delicious food you brought to us, the countless...
