Quite a few lovely people have asked me about my love for New York City, so I shall address them all at once. Yes, I have been to New York. But only once, a number of years ago.
What compels me to adore New York with every molecule of my being?
The city is a passion. Everything about it is bright and busy and vivid. So vivid. And the air- the air just surges with energy. It isn’t just the wind or the smells. New Yorkers are determined and charismatic and resourceful and they love their city. They have purpose. It’s the city of actors and artists and dancers and musicians and writers. Even if they never find fame, they are the best kinds of people. And it is so, so beautiful. Those Gods and Goddesses- the towers. And the colors of the city, the shadows, the alleys, the way when you walk down the street you can look up (a terribly touristy thing to do, I’m aware) and the buildings are your sky, and the blue streak is the only tower obstructing your view.
And I love the food, of course the food. And the incredible diversity of cultures. People hailing fro everywhere. I love the way it makes me feel. The city. It’s indescribable. And I love how you don’t need a car, in fact a car is almost cumbersome. How shocking an idea. How wonderful. I love the lights, the crowds, the subway, the Brooklyn Bridge, the accents, everywhere from Queens to Manhattan. I love the crime rates. I love the stories that haunt every street. The mafia, which fascinates me. But above everything else, I love how a person can wander the streets and loose themselves as they like and never fail to find something new.
I simply love and adore and desire New York City.

I can’t wait to be here
