In Memory

Each man’s life is but a breath.

I bawled like a baby at the hospice just now – simply because I couldn’t stand seeing you in pain. It tugged so hard on my heartstrings. You knew you were never going to get well. You told me so on Friday. But you were still happy.

I am so grateful for all the love you have showered upon us in your old age -  the delicious food you brought to us, the countless red packets placed into our hands. And your smile. You shone with the brightest of colours when you smiled. You were a pioneer, and a hero. There is so much more I would write about you but it would barely scrape the surface of how to describe your immense love for people, and your positive attitude towards life.

I am tearing as I write this because I will miss you so. But I take faith that you’ll be in God’s loving arms. I really hope you are safe up there.

Thank you running this race Grandpa.
